Ode To Chameleon

One look at the desert

And my mind was set

Seeing it sit, there one moment

Gone the next

I want to be a chameleon

I want to turn blue,

Blending in with the sky

I want to be yellow

Seeming not to be there in the sand

Let me be green

And I swear

I’ll show you how to blend in

Yes I’ll risk predators

Just let me be a chameleon

Hiding under a rock

U can’t see me

While no one seems to care

That I’m even there

Forget standing out

It’s my destiny

A chameleon is what I need to be
